The editors were saddened to learn of Richard Montgomery’s sudden passing away. Richard was a friend, colleague, and mentor to many. British orthopaedic association and, in particular, the British Limb Reconstruction Society, have lost a true champion of science and art. It is fitting that we pay tribute to Richard here in STLR to remind us of his contributions to our field.
